Spring is right around the corner. April showers or not, these great Wisconsin public gardens are guaranteed to have some flowers.
Sixteen acres of the Midwest's finest plants can be found at the Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison. The gardens host the continental United State's only Thai Pavilion and Garden and the Boltz Conservatory, a 50-foot high glass pyramid, both featuring tropical plants. Educational options are offered year round.
The Paine Art Center and Gardens in Oshkosh provides visitors with thousands of plant species on a historic estate. Open to the public since 1948, it features not only gardens, but a historic mansion housing various art exhibits.
Named after the ghostly, bluish light that can lie above prairies and marshes, Foxfire Botanical Gardens in Marshfield offers 15 acres of variety. Blending eastern and western gardening styles, Foxfire strives to create a "spirit of nature."
