Beat the summer heat and get your adrenaline racing at these five great waterparks.
David F. Schulz Aquatic Center
Milwaukee
The David F. Schulz Aquatic Center is much more than your typical city pool. In addition to a main pool, the center has tube and body slides, a lazy river and leisure pool. Interactive toys such as spray jets, spray posts and a bucket dump provide kids with even more fun. Don't be dissuaded if the weather is a little chilly - the water is heated. Day rates and season passes available.
The Waters of Minocqua
Minocqua
Splash indoors or outdoors at this northwoods hotel and waterpark. With 10,000 square feet under the roof and a pool and hot tub outside, the park is northern Wisconsin's largest. Two body slides start indoors, wind outside the building, and spit riders back into the indoor pool. A snack bar provides food and refreshments, while water aerobics are offered three times a week for those looking to burn off that last piece of pizza. The park is free for hotel guests and offers public rates.
Jellystone Park Camp-Resort
Warrens
This rural locale offers a waterpark to compete with any in Wisconsin. Featuring two standard swimming pools, a wave pool, lazy river, activity pool, and two hot ponds, users looking for excitement or relaxation are both satisfied. Ol' Blue, Jellystone's signature waterslide, provides a 400-foot romp. A variety of interactive water toys can be found at Ranger Smith's Water Town. The lakeside beach provides an additional natural setting.
Tundra Lodge Resort and Waterpark
Green Bay
Located four blocks from Lambeau Field, this 3-story indoor waterpark provides another venue for excitement. Moosejaw Mountain is an interactive playground for kids, while kids or adults can get their heart pounding on over 500 feet of waterslides. Green Bay's only lazy river presents an opportunity to calm down, meandering through the park's 30,000 square feet. The park is free for hotel guests, day passes are available based on occupancy.
Wisconsin Dells
When considering Wisconsin Dell's waterparks, you can't pick just one. The city's title as Waterpark Capital of the World is well earned - the Dells is home to over 15 waterparks. The Kalahari Resort provides Wisconsin's largest indoor water park, while the Great Wolf Lodge provides both indoor and outdoor waterparks. Nothing can top the granddaddy of them all, however. Noah's Ark, covering 70 acres, has 49 slides, two wave pools, four kid's areas, and much more fun - both wet and dry.
